As she stood on the shore, it was as if the waves were echoing these very words found in Psalm 32:8. The anxiety of life cycled. What’s going to happen? Where will I be in 10 years? What should I do with my life? She is only a teenager, but raise your hand if you ask those questions. Hand raised right here! You know the questions, the “what next” and “how should move in this” stuff of life. How often we forget in our own impulsive need to know and control that He already has spoken. Just as we can be certain of the waves crashing day and night and the continual tides alternating ebb and flow, that in His Word instruction rests and He never lets you out of His sight.
As my baby girl approaches 15, I pray these words over her…
